Michael Morgan is a veteran photographer, internationally published photojournalist, and founder of Mayhem Studios NY, with more than 30 years behind the camera spanning fashion, editorial, fine art, news, film, television, and documentary photography.
His photography has appeared in publications and editorial markets ranging from mainstream fashion titles such as Vogue, British Vogue, ELLE, GQ, Harperβs Bazaar, and Cosmopolitan to menβs and alternative publications including Maxim, FHM, Stuff, Marquis, Skin Two, and other fine-art, alternative, fetish, and artistic-nude publications.
His career reflects a willingness to photograph everything from high fashion and commercial beauty to provocative alternative imagery and documentary storytelling.
Michael has also received national recognition for journalistic work addressing homelessness, LGBTQ+ issues, veterans, and criminal justice, using photography and journalism to document communities and stories often overlooked by mainstream media.
After a 2Β½-year hiatus, Michael relaunched Mayhem Studios in 2026 with a simple philosophy: donβt recreate the pastβcreate something better.
For Fall 2026 and beyond, Mayhem is building a completely new and unconventional roster of models, photographers, makeup artists, stylists, designers, videographers, assistants, and creative talent.

LILLY COSME Part-Time Photo Assistant β Mayhem Studios New to the professional photography world but definitely not short on energy, Lilly Cosme joins Mayhem Studios as a part-time Photo Assistant with curiosity, intuition, reliability, and a genuine desire to learn the craft from the ground up. Whether sheβs helping organize equipment, assisting on location, keeping a shoot moving, or figuring out what the photographer needs before he remembers to ask for it, Lilly brings exactly the kind of attitude Mayhem values: show up, pay attention, work hard, and donβt be afraid to jump in. Outside the studio, Lilly enjoys music, museums, art, and exploring new experiences. She is also a professional pet sitterβwhich means after dealing with dogs, cats, and occasionally questionable animal behavior, working with photographers and models should be relatively easy. Lilly is reliable, enthusiastic, ready to learn, and willing to work. While part of the Mayhem Studios team, she is also available independently for photography and production-assistant assignments outside of Mayhem. Sheβs new to the fieldβand thatβs part of the point. A photographer in her own right, Caroline has a particular interest in documenting LGBTQ+ people, culture, identity, and issues through her work. Her photography reflects the same straightforward personality she brings to a setβauthentic, observant, and never afraid to tackle subjects outside the mainstream. Caroline is also the person you want around when a supposedly βsimple shootβ stops being simple. Difficult location? Complicated setup? Tight schedule? Unexpected problem? Thatβs when Caroline earns her keep. Her ability to stay focused, speak up, and help find a solution makes challenging shoots considerably more manageable. Her experience extends beyond still photography into television production, giving her an understanding of what happens both in front of and behind the camera. A transgender woman with years of experience working with different agencies and creative personalities, Elizabeth understands that talent doesnβt always arrive in the package the traditional fashion industry expects. Being one of the more seasoned members of the Mayhem team gives her something particularly valuable: experience, perspective, and the confidence to recognize potential that others might overlook. And Elizabeth doesnβt simply wait for talent to find Mayhemβshe goes looking for it. From models and performers to photographers, makeup artists, stylists, and unconventional personalities, Elizabeth helps seek out new faces and creative people who could bring something different to the studio. A talented fashion designer and founder of DaNa Fashions, Nataliia creates distinctive garments with a particular talent for corsetry, dresses, statement pieces, and designs that celebrate femininity while refusing to disappear into the crowd. Nataliiaβs relationship with Mayhem goes beyond simply providing clothing for a photograph. She collaborates on concepts, styling, fashion shoots, model development, and original creative projectsβbringing the designerβs perspective into the process from the beginning. Her background also extends beyond fashion. With previous professional experience in finance in Ukraine, Nataliia combines creativity with a practical understanding of businessβalthough at Mayhem we occasionally have to remind everyone that spreadsheets and corsets generally require very different tools. As Mayhem Studios builds its new roster for Fall 2026 and beyond, Nataliia represents an important part of that philosophy: bringing together designers, photographers, models, makeup artists, and other independent creatives instead of treating them as separate worlds. VICTORIA B. Talent Acquisition β Mayhem Studios NY Originally from Chicago, Victoria B. traded the Windy City for New York about 15 years ago and has since built a career in the entertainment world. By day, she works as an entertainment lawyer in New York; outside of her regular professional life, she recently joined Mayhem Studios to help us do something a little less conventional. Working in Talent Acquisition, Victoria uses her entertainment-industry experience, professional network, and eye for interesting people to identify and refer models, photographers, makeup artists, stylists, performers, and other creative talent who might be a good fit for Mayhem. And those referrals matter. As Mayhem Studios builds an entirely new roster for 2026 and beyond, Victoria has become part of the studioβs grassroots approach to growth: good people finding other goodβand occasionally wonderfully unusualβpeople. Rather than relying exclusively on traditional casting and agency channels, Mayhem is building through relationships, referrals, collaboration, and discovering talent in unexpected places. We see them, but we do not see them. Among them are thousands of U.S. military veterans β individuals who once answered the call of duty, who risked everything, and who carried the weight of our nation on their backs. Yet today, many of them carry nothing but a backpack, a cardboard sign, and memories that wonβt let them sleep. The Silence Surrounding Their Sacrifice For years, Iβve worked with veterans throughout New York City β listening to their stories, supporting their transition, and witnessing firsthand how many fall between the cracks of a system that promised to protect them. What Iβve seen is heartbreaking. Some struggle with untreated PTSD. Some battle addiction. Some simply ran out of options. But almost all share a sense of invisibility β a belief that they were needed once, applauded once, honored onceβ¦ and then abandoned. This reality is not a statistic; it is a wound. A national one. Why This Series Exists This photography series was created for one purpose: To give voice, dignity, and visibility to the veterans America has forgotten. Through raw imagery, real street encounters, and honest conversations, these portraits capture more than homelessness β they capture humanity, pain, resilience, and the truth we often look away from. These men and women placed themselves on the front line for our country. So why are they now sleeping on the front steps of train stations? They signed up to serve. They stood guard while we slept. They carried burdens most Americans will never understand. And yet today, they carry signs that plead, βVeteran. Hungry. Please help.β How did we let this happen? We Didnβt Just Lose Sight of Them β We Deserted Them This series confronts a painful reality: The United States did not simply fail our veterans. We deserted them. We cheered them when they deployed, thanked them when they returned, and then left them to navigate trauma, bureaucracy, poverty, and isolation alone. This project refuses to stay silent about that abandonment. Every photograph is a mirror held up to our society. Every frame asks a question we must all answer: If they were willing to die for us, how are we not willing to fight for them? Art With Purpose Photography has the power to disrupt complacency. It can spark outrage, compassion, and action. My hope is that this series becomes a catalyst β not just for awareness, but for change. I want people to see what I see. To feel what these veterans feel. To understand that behind every face is a story worth hearing and a life worth saving. Homelessness among veterans should not exist. Not in the most powerful nation in the world. Not when these men and women already sacrificed more than enough. Invisible Borders is a bold and uncompromising visual project by photographer Michael Morgan of Mayhem Studios, created to expose the human cost of ICE raids and the growing assault on basic human rights within immigrant communities. This series will be controversial. It is meant to be. Through raw, unfiltered images captured in real time, the project documents the fear, displacement, and heartbreak families face when immigration enforcement disrupts their lives. These photographs are not staged, sanitized, or softened β they reveal the truth that too often goes unseen, unheard, and ignored. At its core, Invisible Borders is not just about enforcement actions. It is about people: the mothers shielding their children, the workers pulled from their homes, the communities living in constant uncertainty. It is about reminding the public that every raid leaves a lasting scar, and every life impacted deserves dignity. My intent is simple: Use photography as a tool for awareness, accountability, and change. By documenting these moments, the project seeks to challenge perceptions, generate empathy, and push society to confront the moral and legal implications of these actions. The hope is that these images will spark dialogue, motivate advocacy, and inspire those in power to reexamine the policies that shape β and sometimes shatter β lives. This work may be uncomfortable. It may provoke strong emotions and difficult conversations. But that is exactly why it must exist.

In recent years, homelessness in New York City has reached the highest levels since the Great Depression of the 1930s. In May 2020, there were 59,308 homeless people, including 13,523 homeless families with 20,044 homeless children, sleeping each night in the New York City municipal shelter system. Families make up more than two-thirds of the homeless shelter population. This project highlights people we pass by everyday and seem silently invisible to us. Why? How did they get here? What is their story? It's a part of our story too. An exhibit is in the works to support the homeless . Keep an eye out for it to be announced.

- 1. Booking Process
- All bookings are arranged directly with Mayhem Studios.
- Clients may schedule sessions by:

- A booking is not confirmed until a deposit has been received and a confirmation email has been issued by Mayhem Studios.
- 2. Payment Methods

- All invoices are issued electronically. Payment is due according to the deposit and balance requirements outlined below.

- A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. This deposit is credited toward your final balance. The remaining balance is due on or before the scheduled session date.

- If a client cancels or reschedules, deposits will not be refunded but may be applied toward a future booking if rescheduled with at least 72 hoursβ notice.
- 4. Cancellations & Refund Policy
- Cancellations made by the client less than 72 hours prior to the session date will forfeit the deposit.
- Cancellations made by Mayhem Studios (e.g., due to illness, equipment failure, or emergency) will result in a full refund of the deposit or rescheduling at no extra charge.
- Refunds for payments beyond deposits will only be considered if services have not been rendered or delivered.
- Once final images, prints, or videos have been delivered, all sales are final.
- 5. Rescheduling
- Clients are permitted one complimentary reschedule if notice is given at least 72 hours in advance.
- Additional reschedules may require a new deposit at Mayhem Studiosβ discretion.
- 6. Turnaround Time
- Standard photo sessions: 7β10 business days
- Events & large projects: 14β21 business days
- Rush delivery may be available for an additional fee.
- 7. Rights & Ownership
- All photographs, videos, and media created by Mayhem Studios are the intellectual property of Mayhem Studios.
- Mayhem Studios retains all rights reserved to use any images and videos for promotional, marketing, portfolio, social media, and advertising purposes.
- Clients are granted a personal or commercial usage license (depending on package terms) for the final delivered images/videos.
- Raw, unedited files remain the property of Mayhem Studios and are not released.

As part of the Mayhem Studios roster, selected talent will be expected to uphold the following responsibilities to maintain professionalism, consistency, and readiness for upcoming opportunities.
πΈ 1. Participate in Scheduled Photoshoots
- Attend test shoots, creative sessions, and portfolio updates
- Arrive on time and ready (basic grooming, clean appearance)
- Follow posing direction and collaborate with the photographer and creative team
- Maintain a respectful, positive attitude on set and during communications
- Conduct yourself professionally when interacting with clients, stylists, and collaborators
- Uphold the studio’s values of inclusivity, creativity, and respect
- Keep measurements, contact info, portfolio images, and social media links current
- Submit updated photos as your look changes (hair, weight, style, etc.)
- Respond to emails or messages promptly
- Participate in virtual or in-person interviews
- Attend portfolio planning or concept meetings when scheduled
- Communicate availability and scheduling needs in advance
- Work with the photographer to bring concepts to life
- Be open to trying new styles, themes, and looks depending on the shoot
- Contribute creative ideas when invited
- Share studio-approved images on social platforms (credits included)
- Support studio visibility by tagging or acknowledging Mayhem Studios when posting collaborative work
- Maintain a professional online presence that reflects positively on you and the studio
- Practice posing, expression, runway (if applicable), and on-camera presence
- Accept constructive feedback and apply it during future sessions
- Continue building your portfolio and professional identity
- Provide biography details, images, and measurements for your website profile
- Update your talent page as needed
- Notify the studio of agency representation or major career changes

Graphic Artist ( Contract)

Mayhem Studios NY is expanding its creative team for 2026 and is seeking a talented, reliable, and imaginative Graphic Artist to support branding, marketing, editorial projects, social media assets, model development materials, and visual creative concepts.
We are looking for someone who blends artistry with precision, who sees every design as a story waiting to be told. If you thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving creative environment, this role is for you.
Candidates must meet the following:
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of graphic design experience (freelance or studio)
- Strong portfolio demonstrating branding, layout, typography, and digital design
- Experience working with creative teams or photographers preferred
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Knowledge of Canva, Figma, or other modern design tools (preferred but not required)
- Strong understanding of color, layout, composition, and brand identity
- Ability to take creative direction and produce polished final work
- Reliable, communicative, and responsive
- Capable of meeting deadlines and managing project timelines
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively
- Attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship

The Graphic Artist (Contract) will be responsible for:
Design & Creative Execution
- Creating digital and print graphics for marketing, campaigns, and talent development
- Designing logos, promotional materials, flyers, banners, and visual branding assets
- Producing website graphics, portfolio layouts, and social media visuals
- Preparing polished, high-resolution assets for both online and print production
- Collaborating with photographer and creative director (Michael Morgan) on concept art
- Designing comp cards, model profiles, pitch decks, and casting materials
- Contributing to Project Teen Team educational materials and presentations
- Supporting special projects, editorial layouts, and merchandise concepts
- Maintaining brand consistency across all design outputs
- Managing file organization, delivery, and versioning
- Editing and preparing images, typography, and graphic elements
- Meeting deadlines for multi-stage or fast-turnaround assignments
Makeup Artist/ Stylist ( Contractual)
We’re looking for someone who understands the power of transformation, who can sculpt mood and story with brushes, palettes, and styling finesse. If you thrive in a fast-paced creative environment and love collaborative artistry, this position is for you.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years professional experience in makeup artistry and/or styling
- Strong portfolio showing versatility across natural, glam, editorial, and creative looks
- Experience working on photoshoots, runway, film, or commercial sets preferred
- Proficiency in modern makeup techniques: complexion work, contouring, highlighting, corrective approaches
- Ability to adapt makeup for different skin tones & lighting setups
- Basic to advanced hair styling abilities (depending on your specialty)
- Optional but valuable: wardrobe styling experience
- Reliable, punctual, organized
- Ability to perform under time constraints
- Creative, adaptable, and collaborative
- Excellent communication and strong client-friendly demeanor
On-Set Makeup & Styling
- Provide professional makeup application for models and talent
- Create looks ranging from natural/light grooming to editorial, glam, avant-garde, and character-based themes
- Assist with hair styling (basic to intermediate, depending on skill level)
- Perform touch-ups and adjustments throughout the shoot
- Ensure continuity across multiple looks or scenes
- Work directly with photographer Michael Morgan to bring visual concepts to life
- Interpret mood boards, creative briefs, and brand aesthetics
- Offer creative input when developing looks for editorial or themed shoots
- Assist with outfit selection, adjustments, steaming, and preparation
- Style models for fashion, lifestyle, and branding shoots
- Ensure wardrobe and accessories are clean, properly fitted, and camera-ready
- Maintain hygiene standards for makeup tools and products
- Manage time efficiently to meet shoot schedules
- Communicate clearly with the team regarding needs and adjustments
- Bring a positive, collaborative presence to the set

$5,000 – Program costs: studio rentals, transportation, exhibition space
$3,000 – Guest instructors, mentors, workshop leaders
$2,000 – Administrative costs to sustain the program
If we don’t reach the full goal, every dollar will still go toward cameras, classes, and student resources so the program launches on schedule.
